Now more than ever we need to look after our health and well-being. The present-day developments demonstrate how important it is to maintain a balanced diet and lifestyle to keep our immune system strong and the body free from disease. It is no longer acceptable to rely on pills and quick fixes and expect better outcomes. Instead, we must focus on prevention rather than just treatment by taking good care of ourselves.

Welcome to the ‘Live Well in Winter’ Workshop! During the workshop, we will be exploring natural ways for maintaining good health using methods originated in Ayurvedic medicine, a centuries-old science that promotes health using natural, nontoxic substances and which recognises the important role of the mind and emotions. Ayurveda is a system for maintaining health and curing disease through adherence to natural rhythms and cycles. It uses a number of approaches to bring harmony to the physiology including diet, herbs, spices, yoga, meditation and massages.

The morning session will be led by Oxana Weber, a qualified Ayurvedic Diet & Lifestyle Consultant and Yoga Teacher. It will be dedicated to learning the basic principles of Ayurveda that can be employed in day to day life. We will pay specific attention to self-care in the winter season and discuss individualised approaches to diet, daily routine and yoga practices. We will then delve into an hour-long yin yoga session, led by Esther Denness, a qualified Hatha and Yin Yoga teacher. Esther will lead us through a slow, nurturing yin yoga practice, focussed on poses and movements that increase immunity and improve digestion.*

We will end the workshop by sharing Ayurveda inspired vegetarian buffet together. There will be an opportunity to mingle and to purchase ayurvedic herbs and preparations suitable for the winter season.

* Please bring a yoga mat.
