Summer of Smiles – ‘Dancing Deer’ finger puppets

Free Creative Craft Hour as part of Summer of Smiles.

Delivered in partnership with Theatr Iolo, with funding from Cardiff Council as part of the Summer of Smiles programme, Grange Pavilion proudly presents a free one-hour craft session for children aged 4-8 years.

Join Theatr Iolo to make Dancing Deer finger puppets, inspired by their production HOOF! which is taking place at Cardiff City Hall Gardens and Cardiff West Community School as part of Summer Of Smiles.

During the craft session, children will be encouraged to design their own ‘Dancing Deer’ before bringing it to life using paper, glue, pens and other materials.  Children will be able to take their finger puppets home to create their own theatre shows for friends and family.

The sessions will be run in English and are suitable for children aged 4-8 years old. If your child has any access requirements, please contact and we will do our best to make adjustments so your child can take part.

Spaces are limited to 10 children. Booking is essential.  Click here to access the booking page:

Adults must stay for the sessions as little fingers may need a helping hand with some of the activity.

Theatr Iolo is the leading Welsh children’s theatre company and has been delivering performances and workshops to babies, children, teenagers, parents, pupils and teachers across Wales, the UK and internationally for over 30 years.
