Delivered in partnership with In Character / Mewn Cymeriad theatre company, with funding from Cardiff Council as part of the Summer of Smiles programme, Grange Pavilion proudly presents a free one hour drama session for children age 7-11 years.

 

 

The Second World War with Glenys Myfanwy

An opportunity to discover more about the day-to-day life of civilians during the Second World War. What were food rations? How did people build shelters in their homes? And why was it important to dim out all light during the evenings to follow blackout regulations? Learn all about life on the Home Front with Glenys Myfanwy, the owner of Rhondda Stores in Swansea.

Suitable for children age 7 – 11 years old

Adults must remain on site but are not expected to be part of the session. We encourage you to enjoy the Pavilion garden or a coffee in the Hideout cafe whilst you wait!

 

Presenting Welsh history with fun and excitement.

 

In Character / Mewn Cymeriad is a theatre company that stages productions on Welsh historical characters and stories.

Launched in 2014, the company’s intention was to produce one person interactive shows for primary schools across Wales, giving students the opportunity to experience an educational and entertaining hour shows. Fast forward to today and In Character has a wide range of theatrical productions available for both young people and adults, all which are centred on a character or a story from Welsh history – spanning from the Celts to celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Welsh National Assembly.
