Grange Pavilion is run by and for the community. Volunteers are not only essential to the smooth running of the building and activities on offer but a key part of the team that help us keep community voices at the front and centre of what we do.
What do volunteers gain
- an opportunity to give back to the community
- receive an induction and training from the team, as well as regular support
- learn new skills and boost employment prospects
- free Welsh language lessons for all our volunteers from Dysgu Cymraeg
- meet and connect with people from all backgrounds and walks of life
- get inspired and be inspiring to others
- trail ideas for projects and events in a supportive and safe environment
What will I be doing?
There are a range of ways to get involved and we’re interested in hearing about your
skills and experience, as well as what you’d like to learn.
We have three volunteering roles available:
Community Connector
Be the friendly face of Grange Pavilion by welcoming visitors, sharing information about activities, and helping with the smooth day-to-day running of our vibrant community space.
Volunteer Ambassador
Use your skills and passions to lead or support community projects in areas like green spaces, jobs and skills, wellbeing, or youth—helping to create lasting change where it’s most needed.
Garden Volunteer
Join our twice-weekly garden group to help maintain and grow our beautiful community garden, while enjoying fresh air, teamwork, and a shared connection to nature.
Outside of the set roles we sometimes have volunteering opportunities for specific events or projects which could include a family fun day or community day, fundraising, upgrading the website or marketing.
You can specify your interests on the form.
How do I apply?
Complete our volunteer application form online. If you
would prefer to fill in a paper copy, drop into Grange Pavilion and ask a member of the
team for an application form.
The application will ask for some basic information and a reference that we can contact as part of your application. It also asks about your skills and what you feel you can bring to the
Pavilion, as well as what you’d like to learn.
If your volunteering will involve working with children or vulnerable people, we will need
to undertake a DBS check.
If you need to speak with the team about your application or how to apply, drop in and
ask for a manager or send the team an email on admin@grangepavilion.wales. They
should get back to you within 5 working days.
Once you have applied, the team will review your application within 2 weeks. You
might be invited for a chat with one of the team– this is to
understand what you hope to gain from volunteering and your skills. We’ll then contact
your references and process a DBS check (if needed) so you can get started with
volunteering.
We look forward to hearing from you!
